2 week Check in!

I have now been doing this project for two weeks. It was semi- successful. There were a few things that my family just could not complete. At the beginning of the two weeks, the goals i set were: making sure the lights are off when we leave the room, making our refrigerator 38˚ instead of 35˚, drying our bath towels and reusing them, using shopping tote bag at ALL times at the grocery store, collecting rain water from the gutters to water flowers/ gardens, go to the grocery store once a week instead of multiple, make sure to hit print preview, and recycle as much as possible.
The things that were successful were making sure the lights were off when the room was not being used, using shopping bag totes at all times, and making sure to hit print preview. The reason why turning the lights off was so successful is because all of our light switches are right next to the exit. It is very simple and easy to just flick a switch, so that went very well. Using the shopping bag totes was also successful. Every time we went groceries I yelled to my mom to make sure she had them. Then once she was done unloading the groceries i would volunteer to bring them back out in the truck, because that is just the lovely daughter I am. The last thing that was successful was making sure to hint print preview. This is very easy because I have to hit print preview anyways or else I will not be able to print anything.
A few things were not successful. We did not collect rain water from the gutters, neither did we recycle as much as possible, and it just did not happen for us going to the grocery store only once a week. Another thing that did not happen was reusing our bath towels, and turning our refrigerator to 38˚ instead of 35˚. The reason why we did not collect rain water is because I totally forgot to tell my dad and then it was like pouring and that is when I decided to tell him. He did not go out because it was thundering and lightening and pouring. The reason why we did not recycle as much as possible, is because I totally forgot to tell my family about it. It is unrealistic for a family of five to only go to the grocery store once a week. It just could not happen. We did not really reuse our bath towels because it is not a habit and it is hard for us to get into that habit. We did not turn our refrigerator up because we have meats and things that have to have a certain temperature.

One Week Check In

This week, we did an alright job on what I had planned to do, but I am going to honestly say, we did not successfully complete all of these things. The things that we successfully completed were making sure the lights are off when leaving the room. Also, I made sure that I hit print preview all week. Every time we went to the grocery store, we used our reusable bags. The reason why it was easy to make sure the lights are off is because t is pretty easy to just flick a switch. The reason why it is easy to hint print preview is because I have to do it anyway or my computer wont print it. lol. It is also easy to always use the reusable bag because we put them in the truck right after we are done unloading. We did not turn our refrigerator temperature up is because we had meats in them. We did not dry and reuse or towels because we didn't really do it, but my dad did. We did not collect the rain water from the gutters because my dad did not have time to set it up before it rained. We did not recycle as much as possible because I forgot to tell my family about it. We definitely failed the going to the grocery store only once a week, because we had a cook out, and all that good stuff and we forgot some stuff. My list of things is below

My family is going to reduce our energy usage over the next to weeks in 5+ ways. We are going to do that by doing things like:
- Making sure that lights are off when we leave the room.√
- Making our refrigerator 38˚ instead of 35˚.
- Dry bath towels and reuse them.
- Use shopping tote bags at ALL times at the grocery store.√
- Collect rain water from gutters to water flowers/ gardens.
- Recycle as much as possible.
- Go to the grocery store once a week instead of multiple.
- Make sure to hit print preview.√
